It's funny how, work, or in this case, national service, is able to screw up your thoughts and reactions on certain events. This is what i mean:

Thursday. Routine return from Hangar to camp. Somehow i got pushed to sit at the back of the 5 ton with the rest of the NSmen (cos Lazy and The Cow rushed for the front seats. Swines....) It was just like any other ordinary ride, until the traffic lights just outside camp. For some reason, the driver slammed the e-brake and everyone... yes, that includes me, in the 5 ton were sent flying. Imagine, sitting in a car with the e-brakes jammed. Now imagine it in a 5 ton, 10 times heavier, which means 10 times more inertia and momentum. Anyway, it was a super brief moment, those sort of "blink of the eye" speed moments. As i was sliding, floating, flying or whatever, to the front side of the tonner, i wasn't thinking "Am i going to injure myself?" Funny, my reaction was "alamak... please don't make me investigating officer" Writing reports is damn dreaded. And my reaction really makes it seem like i would rather die in the accident than to survive and write a report. Which is absolutely not true. Really.

Bringing this entry to a totally different issue (which is why i din include a title for this entry), i just watched bowling for columbine and i thought it was pretty good. The NRA (national rifle assoc.) president really throw face man, show up just a week after the columbine and buell shootings in their towns and give pro gun rallies. Macam Freedom fighter of america, but in the end when kena interviewed by Michael Moore and thrown some hard to answer question, he just walk away. Ultimate throw face.

One thing i find damn funny. America allows guns for hunting animals, sport hunting as they call it. Back here in sunny Singapore, even in a military setting, when we shoot live rounds, it's always conducted in ranges, emphasise a lot on safety etc. Don't talk about commandos la, they have all sorts of training, not including dunking and killing soldiers during peacetime. By right. But that's another issue. Psychotic military personnel who deserve to be hung aside, our live firings are controlled for simple reason, prevention of misfirings and crossfires. Americans, if they go hunting in the woods anytime they want, what if 2 hunters aimed at each other unkowingly then fired off? I mean, in the forests, vegetation decreases visibility, how come we don't hear cases of hunters killing other pple by mistake? Either the hunters are damn alert and damn zhun, or America learning from SAF, cover up this sort of deaths. Wah, and hunters from NRA killing each other.... ultimate fratricide.

Next movie on my list is Farenheit 911. I'm going to be watching a lot of movies man. Other than jamming, the other kids are rather busy recently. Ducky's busy with his youth group stuff, his health, but that's nothing new. Kabu, well, he just got a girlfren, so putting it nicely he has other commitments, but tries his best to make time for his old fren here. In truth, just plain bang seh. Grace, well, without Kabu or Ducky, i dun usually go out with her. Frens like Roy, Ian and Brutus, just faded away during NS. My mates in camp... well, let's just say i see them 5 days a week, and that's already quite a overkill. Ii'll most likely end up discussing work stuff anyway. Quite pathetic. Really. Nnot that i don't enjoy going out, but i guess staying at home, lazing the day away, sounds good to me.
